Chapter 1 Brainwashing and Programming
PROGRAMMING
“Programming is the formulation of a set or sets of directions based on a specific or general belief system directed toward another (child victim or target parent) in order to obtain some desired end/goal. […] If the intent of the programmer is to control the flow of information (as to a judge in child abuse or sexual assault cases), then the child may feel compelled to lie or distort his or her (real) perceptions/beliefs. Confusion in the child may result from internalizing the programme. The programme may issue a message as such. “You never really saw me hit Mommy. I was holding her so she would stop hitting me.” This child reported to a judge, “I don’t know what I saw.” The programme directed the child to reinterpret reality and/or toe develop anxiety about the original understanding. It was successful in controlling the flow of (damaging) information about the programmer. […] So the programme is the ideological basis of a two-part process. First, you must have a belief system in place; this serves as a basis for action by the perpetrating parent. Ultimately these beliefs are instilled into the child to further the goal of disengaging from the target parent.”
BRAINWASHING
“Brainwashing is the selection and application of particular techniques, procedures, and methods employed as a basis for inculcating the programme. The brainwashing is the applied dimension.
It is a process that occurs over a period of time and usually involves the repetition of the programme (contents, themes, values, beliefs) until the subject responds with (emotional, attitudinal, behavioral) compliance. Brainwashing techniques may be employed singularly or in combination. Techniques may vary over time. Rewards for compliance also may vary from material to social/psychological.
The person designing the programme or performing the brainwashing goes by different names. He or she has been called an alienator, brainwasher, manipulator, assaulter, programmer, […] some other term that implies someone in a position of setting up the programme and/or possibly carrying out the actions through the process of brainwashing.
The receiver of the programme or its content is referred to a the victim, the programmed, the manipulated, the alienated, the brainwashee, the recipient, the fall guy, or the respondent.
The programmer (a parent who creates the ideas/goals0 may be different than the brainwasher (perpetrator of the actions). […] The third person in the programming/brainwashing triad is the individual whom the child brainwashed against. This is often the non-brain-washing parent, although stepparents, therapists, judges, mediators, and others can also become foci. They are called the “targets” of the programming.”

“Programmeren is het formuleren van een set of reeksen aanwijzingen op basis van een specifiek of algemeen geloofssysteem gericht op een ander (kindslachtoffer of doelouder) om een gewenst doel / doel te bereiken. […] Als het de bedoeling van de programmeur is om de informatiestroom te beheersen (zoals bij een rechter in gevallen van kindermishandeling of aanranding), dan kan het kind zich gedwongen voelen om te liegen of zijn of haar (echte) percepties / overtuigingen te vervormen. Verwarring bij het kind kan het gevolg zijn van het internaliseren van het programma. Het programma kan als zodanig een boodschap afgeven. “Je hebt me nooit echt mama zien slaan. Ik hield haar vast zodat ze zou stoppen met me te slaan.” Dit kind meldde zich bij een rechter: “Ik weet niet wat ik heb gezien.” Het programma stuurde het kind aan om de werkelijkheid te herinterpreteren en/of angst te ontwikkelen voor het oorspronkelijke begrip. Het was succesvol in het beheersen van de stroom van (schadelijke) informatie over de programmeur. […] Het programma is dus de ideologische basis van een tweedelig proces. Ten eerste moet je een geloofssysteem hebben; dit dient als basis voor actie van de plegende ouder. Uiteindelijk worden deze overtuigingen in het kind ingeprent om het doel van het loskoppelen van de doelouder te bevorderen. ”
HERSENSPOELING
“Hersenspoeling is de selectie en toepassing van bepaalde technieken, procedures en methoden die worden gebruikt als basis voor het inprenten van het programma. De hersenspoeling is de toegepaste dimensie.
Het is een proces dat zich over een bepaalde periode voordoet en meestal de herhaling van het programma (inhoud, thema’s, waarden, overtuigingen) omvat totdat het onderwerp reageert met (emotionele, attitude, gedragsmatige) naleving. Hersenspoeltechnieken kunnen afzonderlijk of in combinatie worden gebruikt. Technieken kunnen in de loop van de tijd variëren. Beloningen voor naleving kunnen ook variëren van materieel tot sociaal/psychologisch.
De persoon die het programma ontwerpt of de hersenspoeling uitvoert, heeft verschillende namen. Hij of zij is een vervreemder, hersenspoeler, manipulator, aanrander, programmeur, […] een andere term genoemd die iemand impliceert die in een positie verkeert om het programma op te zetten en / of mogelijk de acties uit te voeren door middel van het proces van hersenspoeling.
De ontvanger van het programma of de inhoud ervan wordt verwezen naar een slachtoffer, de geprogrammeerde, de gemanipuleerde, de vervreemde, de hersenspoelde, de ontvanger, de fall guy of de respondent.
De programmeur (een ouder die de ideeën/doelen maakt0 kan anders zijn dan de hersenspoeler (dader van de acties). […] De derde persoon in de programmeer/hersenspoeling triade is de persoon tegen wie het kind gehersenspoeld heeft. Dit is vaak de niet-hersenspoelende ouder, hoewel stiefouders, therapeuten, rechters, mediators en anderen ook foci kunnen worden. Ze worden de ‘targets’ van de programmering genoemd.”
